Throughout life’s journey, we may find ourselves feeling lost, unsure of where to go or where to start. We may feel disconnected from ourselves and others. We may come to realize that past experiences have shaped our worldview, and how we relate to and connect with others. We may recognize that there are patterns of thinking or behavior within our family system that we want to break, but aren’t sure how. My name is Stephanie and I’m here to be your guide through this.

When we have experienced trauma, we may find it easier to leave it in the past; however, these experiences can change how we think and feel about ourselves and our surroundings. Through therapy, we can regain understanding of ourselves by reconnecting to our feelings of safety, belonging, and hope. We can learn new skills to strengthen our relationships and establish secure attachment patterns. In order to achieve this, I use an eclectic approach to therapy by utilizing evidence-based modalities, such as EMDR and emotion-focused psychotherapy. I use an attachment and somatic focus, as I believe our early attachment patterns and our mind/body connection are key factors in how we process and react to stressors. I work from a secular, anti-capitalist, and individualistic lens so that I can cultivate a space where you are free to show up as your most authentic self.

I have a passion to work with adolescents and adults dealing with complex and single-incident trauma, religious-based trauma, relationship issues, family conflict, ADHD, and life transitions. I have experience working with those who are victims of commercial sex trafficking and with those who have disordered eating patterns. I ally myself with the LGBTQIA+ community, non-monogamy community, and persons of color. I have experience working in schools, residential treatment programs, and private practice.

A rare Charlotte area native, Stephanie graduated from Western Carolina University with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She traveled further south to Atlanta, Georgia to obtain her Master of Science in Clinical Counseling Psychology at Brenau University. She is trained in S.A.F.E EMDR for trauma processing. Stephanie provides virtual and in-person therapy in North Carolina. When she’s not providing therapy, Stephanie can be seen cuddling with her two cats, playing video games, and reading science fiction novels.
